A Holiday Bike Giveaway was hosted at the Los Angeles County General Hospital on December 21. Community members received 40 free bicycles that had been collecting dust in storage at the hospital. In partnership with DEO and local bike shop Esquina, bicycles were brought back to life with minor repairs and maintenance and were distributed to community residents. Additional bicycles will be repaired, and a second event will be scheduled in the coming months.

The second Community At-large Master Plan workshop was held on December 6. The workshop featured the next iteration of the Master Plan design that incorporated Community’s input from the first workshop hosted in September and focused on refining the amenities and types of outdoor spaces centered on the community’s priorities of gathering, belonging and connectivity. The main workshop was hosted via Zoom with two in-person watch parties; one at the LA General Medical Center and the second at Alma Family Services with a combined attendance of 160.
